ALEA –Air Law Enforcement Association– is convinced by the variety of possibilities of the ProPilots training software. The security manager of ALEA informed himself extensively about the training tools provided by ProPilots. Next to the 3D animated educational movies of emergency situations, the integration of specific questionnaires in the area of type rating, maintenance, flight operations with the help of pictures, documents and videos have been convincing. The experts of flight operations, such as examiner and flight instructor have the opportunity to provide specialist knowledge for staff and personnel in form of small target-oriented tests and questions that are accessible and available worldwide 24/7 on every computer, tablet or phone. Monitoring and documentation facilitates the recurring training and enables the perception of other tasks in flight operations with simultaneously increasing flight safety.

Could this accident have been prevented? Unfortunately it has just happened again in Neuhausen ob Eck in the Tuttlingen region: A helicopter has crashed, two people were killed, the material damage was 290.000 Euro. Such events prove how important training is as preparation for unforeseen events. Of course, no-one knows if the terrible extent of the accident could have been prevented. But the chance to be able to avoid the worst in emergency situations increases with routine exposure to technical or visual problems.

ProPilots GmbH is introducing the world’s first comprehensive training software for helicopter crews. By preparing crews for all manner of emergency situations, the software makes a lasting improvement to pilot, passenger and aircraft safety. Using a highly sophisticated development process, ProPilots has created special 3D training films which allow pilots to practice reacting to real-world emergency situations, as often as they want. While actual helicopter training hours are often limited by financial constraints and can provide training only in a small number of real-world emergency situations, the Internet-based ProPilots software can expose pilots to many more potential hazards and can be accessed anywhere at any time. “Regular use of the training software is a great way to prepare pilots for any number of unforeseeable situations,” says ProPilots founder and managing director Alexander Steffen. “We estimate that this kind of training can help avoid up to 80 percent of helicopter accidents in the future.”
